New UEFA President has dropped hints that the Champions League Final may be in New York.
Alexsander Ceferin who is the new President made this known in an exclusive interview. He said he will revive the bidding process for the rights to the final game and even if it ends up in New York, he is fine by it.
He had this to say: “I think it might be an idea in future but we are open to talks. We are not against any idea for now. We will talk about it. However, people also need to consider the distance between the UK and the United States and how flights from Europe to any part of the US is a herculean task”.
To go from Portugal to Azerbaijan for example is almost the same or the same as though you are going to New York. For the fans, it is not a problem but we should bear in mind that it remains a European competition and that is the foremost thing to consider.
The bidding process will be very clear and not political. The rules will give no room for politics or any form of cheating. I will not allow it. The bidding will b as transparent as possible.
