Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has told BT Sport, as reported by the Evening Standard that Arsenal will follow up their win over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur with a defeat against Burnley.
Understandably, Arsenal fans are feeling pleased with the team at the moment, having seen their favourite team dominate their bitter London rivals on Saturday afternoon. However, the football pundit is out to burst their bubble.
It really doesn’t sound beyond the Gunners to go and lose against a team like Burnley FC after beating Premier League title chasers Tottenham Hotspurs.
Aside from that, Burnley are actually playing almost as good as the top teams at the moment. They are level with Arsenal on 22 points on the log, and only a number of goals behind on goal difference.
So the gap between the gunners and the Clarets is just a number of goals, whilst the difference to the next closest side is four points. Even if the North Londoners do come out victorious on Sunday, Burnley will still remain in the top-seven.
Arsene Wenger’s men travel to Germany on Thursday to play FC Köln. The Burnley clash will be a huge test for Arsenal, but hopefully, the team can prove Rio Ferdinand wrong and come out victorious.
