According to a German media outlet SportBild (via SportWitness), the general manager of Borussia Monchengladbach Max Eberl, has revealed his transfer plan for the upcoming summer – and he’s hoping to sign Chelsea player Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan in connection with Andreas Christensen’s imminent return to the Stamford Bridge club.
Following Chelsea’s desire to bring the player back for the 2017/18 campaign, the German club are prepared to let go of the Danish centre-back but are however now looking to make more business with the English Premier League giants. Both have done successful businesses before, so they aren’t strangers as far as business is concern.
Andreas Christensen has become a key player in the Monchengladbach side this term but is ready to return to Chelsea this summer.
The Bundesliga club are not aiming at Loftus-Cheek alone, but are also after Arsenal’s Gedion Zelalem and Hannover’s Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee. However, the Chelsea youngster Is the main priority ahead of the upcoming summer.
Loftus-Cheek is a talented player who has the ability to break into the team’s starting eleven. So a loan deal could be the best option for the 21-year-old midfielder as Antonio Conte is unlikely to give him much bigger of a role at Stamford Bridge.
The ideal choice for Monchengladbach would be to sign the player permanently, with a buy-back clause for Chelsea. But it is unlikely that the Chelsea roster are keen to let him to on a permanent deal.
