The 24-year-old Denmark midfielder has committed himself to Spurs until 2020.

The Danish midfielder has been in negotiations with the club since March over a new deal and his new contract is worth around £75,000-per week, making him one of Spurs’ top earners alongside Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele, Hugo Lloris and Erik Lamela.

Eriksen, signed from Dutch club Ajax in August 2013, and has become one of the most important player at white hart Lane.

“It’s gone really quickly,” Eriksen told the club’s official website. “It’s my fourth season now and yet it doesn’t feel like that, it feels more like a second season and it’s more and more exciting.

“There is a great future at this place and I wouldn’t have signed if I didn’t see that. It’s a very good group of people, players who connect with each other, staff who connect with the players and we all have an idea of where we want to go, and hopefully we’ll achieve it.”

“Since I came in the last two years we have been going forwards, are taking steps upwards and I want to be a part of it,” said Eriksen, whose new deal is said to be worth around £70,000 per week.

“I see a great future, it is going only one way at the moment.

“I think it is a very good group of people and players who can connect with each other and a group of staff who connect with the players.

Totteham have been busy in the summer transfer market with the signings of Victor Wanyama from Southampton, Vincent Janssen and 21-year-old winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille while France international Moussa Sissoko joined from Newcastle
