Spanish La Liga side FC Barcelona are determined to make a huge signing in the winter transfer window.
With the FIFA World Cup coming up next year, Brazil international winger Willian is reportedly ready to secure regular playing time. However, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte does not want to twist his new 3-5-2 setup and this has reportedly led to the Brazilian being unsettled at the West London club.
Also, although the Catalan club prefers Liverpool star Phillippe Coutinho, the Chelsea star will be much more cheaper as Willian is only expected to cost them about £45 million. The CEO of FC Barcelona Oscar Grau even disclosed that the Spanish side are eyeing a huge signing in the January transfer window:
“We [FC Barcelona] are ready to buy [Phillippe] Coutinho in the winter [transfer] market, or any player [target] the technical crew request,” Oscar Grau disclosed.
Chelsea star Willian and Phillippe Coutinho both have the same representative, Giuliano Bertolucci. The agent was also pivotal in sealing Paulinho’s transfer in the summer transfer window and FC Barcelona will be hoping that he replicates the same thing with either of them.
The Liverpool star is still undoubtedly the La Liga side’s number 1 transfer target, but a move for Willian could be less complicated as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly set to greenlight his sale in the New Year.
