Ashley Young has made it known that he is keen on signing a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Young’s current contract at Manchester United will get expired at the end of this season, and the club are understood not to have begun talks with him about the possibility of signing a new deal.
The 32-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Aston Villa back in 2011 as a winger but has evolved into a utility player since the arrival of the new Portuguese boss last summer.
Mourinho has given Ashely a start in the last four games and the player himself has been performing well above average. However, he will be out of contract at the end of this term – although the red devils have the option to extend it by a year, and he has confirmed that he is keen to stay at Old Trafford by signing a new deal.
Speaking recently about life at Manchester United, the veteran star admits it is exciting at the club, and that he is keen to become part of United’s success by winning more trophies with them.
And about being given the opportunity to captain the side when new skipper Michael Carrick is not around, he expressed that it is such a big honour to captain a side like Man United, and according to him, it is a good prove that his manager has lots of trust in him.
