Paul Merson has adviced Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to make a winter move for defender Jonny Evans from West Brom.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players recently as the French tactician looks to strengthen his team in the winter transfer window.
The former Manchester United defender has been tipped as a possible transfer target for the Gunners in the past, with Arsenal’s defensive problems regularly making the news.
We’ll wait to see whether or not the gunners will make a transfer move to sign the defender this New Year, but Merson says he would prefer seeing Arsenal signing the Northern Ireland central defender.
The defender has netted two goals and provided one assist in 20 League matches so far this campaign for his team.
The north Londoners are currently getting prepared for their League match against Crystal Palace at home on Saturday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger’s team head into the match looking to return to winning ways in the English Premier League after their 2-1 defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth last weekend.
The Emirates giants are currently occupying the sixth position on the table and eight points behind the top four.
Reports indicate Leicester City are also interested in Evans but face a stiff battle for the defender’s signature.
