Arsenal to sign new massive kit deal with Adidas

Reports have indicated that Arsenal football club may have secured a kit deal with Adidas which is said to be worth about £40 million per year after the five year contract with current kit makers Puma expires at the end of next season.

Although, the club have said they are not in a position to confirm the reports of a possible return to the German kit makers who produced strips for the North London club between 1986 and 1994, when they won the league titles dramatically in 1989 and 1991, and also in 1993 when they lifted the FA cup.

It is rumoured that Arsenal could even end its association with Puma before the termination of their contract so as to link up with the German kit designer if Adidas can double what the Gunners currently earn from Puma.

Arsenal currently earn £30 million per season from Puma for kit endorsement and the £40 million offered by Adidas: one of the biggest in the Premier League, represents a significant increase in kit endorsement revenue for the North Londoners, however, it falls far below the £75 million Adidas doles out to Manchester United and the £60 million Chelsea football club receives from its current kit maker, Nike.

You will recall that the Gunners have only recently reached a new five year shirt sponsorship agreement with Emirates which will run till 2024 for a staggering £200 million, amounting to £40 million per season. These are indeed exciting times for the club as the extra revenue could increase the club’s influence in the next transfer window.
