North London giants Arsenal are closely watching 16-year-old Steven Gerrard’s cousin Bobby Duncan as the forward continues to impress for rival club Manchester City, according to latest reports.
According to British publication The Daily Mirror, Arsenal’s interest was piqued after Bobby Duncan netted the winning goal for England’s U-17s side against Portugal earlier in the week.
The same publication claims the teenager was invited to the U-20s team in the England set-up as the promising striker becomes the newest star breakthrough from Manchester City’s productive academy.
The Gunners are one of a couple of English Premier League sides who are closely monitoring the City teenager following his displays in the international scene for the Three Lions.
Bobby Duncan was the game-winner for the Three Lions U-17s team during the week after he netted a long-range strike very similar to his cousin Steven Gerrard against European Champion Portugal.
His effort secured a 3-2 comeback victory and made some headlines across the British media as the Ex Liverpool and England captain’s cousin left his own mark on the Three Lions set-up.
The Liverpool legend finished with 114 international caps for England during his long international playing career. The UEFA Champions League winner found the back of the net 21 times for the England National team.
