According to reports, Merseyside club Everton are planning on re-launch their interest in Arsenal star Olivier Giroud as they prepare a £40m January offer for him.
Having cash in on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United this summer and failed to sign a replacement, goals have been difficult for the Toffees to start the Premier League season.
Everton have netted just four goals in six matches, and so they seriously need to address that problem in January with more attackers up top.
As per The Mirror, Oliver Giroud is back on their scouting list after they failed in their attempt to snap him up last summer, not through their own undoing due to circumstances at Arsenal, and they’re prepared to bid £40million to take the France international striker to Goodison Park.
Giroud, 30, has stated clearly his intent to remain at the Emirates in the past, but he’ll be willing to play regular first-team football between now and the end of the League season, with a spot at the FIFA World Cup next year at stake.
He’s managed to score just one goal in eight matches so far this year with a limited number of playing time, and so despite his for the team, he may well have to look elsewhere moving forward if the Merseysiders return for him and might be ready to make him their main striker.
