Arsenal have launched a summer move for Napoli midfielder Jorginho according to reports.

The Italian midfielder has been a frustrated figure at Naples, after falling out of favour under Maurizio Sarri who opted to deploy the duo of Allan and Amadou Diawara during the last campaign.

The 25-year-old has proved to be top quality for the Serie A side before this season and has been tipped to for greater success.

Reports in the Football Italia have it that Arsenal made a 17 million euros bid for the midfielder but was turned down by Napoli who are not wiling to sell the player for that price despite his reduced role.

In related news, Juventus have made an improved bid for Polish goalkeeper Wojiecech Szcesznsy after their first bid was knocked back.

Reports in Gazzetta dello Sport have it that Juve submitted a £7million move for the Arsenal keeper with hopes of landing him.

However, prior reports have it that Arsenal are holding out for £10million bid for Szcesnsy, with reports that the Arsene Wenger wants to hold on to the goalie despite not being able to guarantee him a first team spot.

There are suggestions that the 27-year-old wants to leave the Emirates in search of better opportunities and believes that he could succeed Gianluigi Buffon.
