Sami Khedira

Arsenal are reported to be keen on having the signature of German midfielder Sami Khedira in the coming winter transfer window which reopens in the coming months.

The North London side had earlier made a move for the player in the summer but a deal did not fall through as he stays put with the Italian champions Juventus.

A report according to Calciomercato revealed that the Gunners were not the only clubs that were turned down by the Italian giants for the former Real Madrid player as Manchester United were also reported to have tabled a bid for him.

However, Sami Khedira’s place in the team can no longer be guaranteed with the coming of Emre Can from Liverpool who seems to have taken the spot in the team.

Sami Khedira is being placed on a disadvantaged state because of his age knowing that he is no longer getting younger and will not last any longer at the club.

This has made it that the German is reported to be muting a move away from Turin so as to secure enough playing time knowing that the time is already ticking.

The Gunners are long-term suitors for Sami Khedira as he was also linked with the club during the reigns of former French manager Arsene Wenger.
