Arsenal eyeing £50m attacker as Wenger set Sight on third summer signing

Thomas Lemar

As per a report in the Mirror, Arsenal are still locked in discussions with AS Monaco over a potential £50m deal to sign Thomas Lemar this summer transfer window.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’s still on the transfer market for more players after only bringing in Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon so far.

A new striker looks to be his priority, and Monaco’s Lemar has been heavily linked with a transfer in the media in recent weeks, but the Ligue 1 Champions have proven extremely hard to deal with.

Reports indicate that several offers have been rejected by Monaco as they try very hard to hang on to the remainder of their title-winning squad after letting some players go this summer.

The rumour has died down a little recently after the French club insisted the Arsenal target would not be sold but the Mirror are quoting a report from Sky Sports that claims the Gunners are still in talks with Monaco.

The publication says that AS Monaco are demanding £50 million for the 21-year-old and the Gunners hope to have a deal sealed before the summer transfer window shut at the end of the month.

The Arsenal target is one of the most exciting young forwards in the continent of Europe, and he’d bring creativity to the team as he netted 14 goals and provided 17 assists last campaign alone.
