Spaniard set to miss out
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Spaniard Ander Herrera will miss Weekend’s crunch encounter against Premier League champions Chelsea.
After missing the last three fixtures in all competitions, the midfielder was surprisingly included in the Manchester United starting lineup for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 with La Liga side Sevilla.
Playing in the middle of the park alongside Serbian Nemanja Matic and England youngster Scott McTominay, the Spain international’s return to the squad as well as his homeland didn’t last long as he was forced off after only 17 minutes of football action to be replaced by Frenchman Paul Pogba.
Injury setback
The 28-year-old sustained what looked like a hamstring injury after attempting a back-heel the ball in the box and now seems set for another spell on the sidelines after confirmation from manager Jose Mourinho that the injury sustained is a serious one and will rule him out of the Chelsea clash at the weekend.
The player’s injury might just come as a boost for Chelsea forward Eden Hazard. In the corresponding encounter between the two sides last term, the Belgium international was man marked out of the match at Old Trafford by Herrera and Chelsea fell to a 2-0 defeat.
