According to the Telegraph and other several outlets, Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil has penned a new three-and-a-half-year deal worth £350k-weekly with Arsenal.
Subject of Major transfer speculation
The player’s future has been a major subject of much talk over the last few months as his deal was due to run out in the summer and there have been a couple of teams pursuing his signature.
At a point, it seemed like the German was going to follow Chile star Alexis Sanchez out of the club as he struggled to agree on personal terms with the player’s representatives.
However, there have been good signals coming out recently and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sounded more optimistic when asked about Mesut Ozil’s future a week ago.
New deal secured for Ozil
The Telegraph are now among several media houses who’re saying that the World Cup winner has now signed a fresh three-and-a-half-year deal worth about £350,000-weekly with the side.
There has been no official announcement from the Gunners as at press time but that’s not a shock given they’ve just confirmed the capture of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Dortmund so the side will not want to overshadow the new development with news of Mesut Ozil’s new contract.
However, the publication says there should be a formal announcement in the coming days and it will be a major boost once it’s confirmed that the German is staying at the Emirates Stadium.
