Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is targeting a big spending spree at the West London club this summer transfer window, as the Italian bids to rebuild his title-winning team.

The former Juventus manager has already broken the club’s transfer record this summer, with the £58 million signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but has declared that more players are needed.

Chelsea’s team has reduced since winning the Premier League title last season, after the exits of John Terry, Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah while Diego Costa is thought to be on his way back to Atletico Madrid and Nemanja Matic is wanted by rivals Manchester United.

But the former Italy National team manager has asked for more signings as he prepares to defend the Premier League title and challenge in the UEFA Champions League for the first time since his appointment as head Coach at Stamford Bridge.

The boss committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal earlier this week, and Blue’s boss is hopeful of at least another three marquee signings ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

Chelsea Cheif’s are also fully supportive of the manager’s stance on outgoing striker Diego Costa, who will be sold this summer after his relationship with the London club hit rock bottom.

Conte has explained the reasons behind the Spaniard’s impending sale, insisting the Champions will cope without the prolific striker.
