Apart from his recent errors during Spain’s opening World Cup game against Portugal last week, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has been in the news in recent times due to his links with Champions League winners Real Madrid.
And while a lot of United fans are getting worried about losing their No.1 goalie this summer, it was made known that the Spaniard had agreed to sign a new contract at Old Trafford to extend his stay at the Theater of Dreams.
It was also added that the new contract will make David the highest paid goalie in the world.
David is regarded by many as the best shot-stopper in the world, but he had an unpleasant start in the World Cup when he gifted Cristiano Ronaldo some cheap goals.
Nevertheless, Spanish news outlet Marca are reporting that Jose Mourinho’s side have been discussing with him and have agreed to a deal that will see him earn £18.4M per year.
This means De Gea will begin going home with around £350,000 each week and will surpass Manuel Neuer’s wages at Bayern Munich.
It was also added that De Gea will officially sign the papers after Spain’s World Cup outing in Russia.
Obviously, Real Madrid should begin looking elsewhere!
