According to reports, Arsenal are getting closer to getting Jonny Evans’ signature from West Brom.
Evans was linked with a move away from the Hawthorns during the past summer transfer window after he emerged as a target for a handful of top clubs in the premier league including Arsenal and Manchester City. However, West Brom rejected every offer from interested clubs, and a move couldn’t materialise before the closure of the window.
Nevertheless, the club are now ready to sell him as they need more funds for new players this month.
And it was made known that Arsene Wenger’s side are getting closer to agreeing a £25 million deal with West Brom for the former Manchester United defender.
The Northern Ireland international has also been linked recently with a move back to Old Trafford, and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola is also interested in bringing him over to the Etihad Stadium this month.
But Arsenal are said to be leading the race for the 30-year-old’s signature and the North Londoners could get the player before the closure of the ongoing winter transfer window.
West Brom boss Pardew has recently indicated that the player could leave his side anytime soon, but it would be for a right price.
