Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have one of the best defence in the Premier League this season. With just few games left to play in the English top flight, the west London club have conceded just 25 goals for now.
But despite having superb defenders in his team, it appears Chelsea’s boss Antonio Conte desire adding more strength to his defense department. And Sporting Gijon young star Jorge Mere is in the limelight.
A report coming from the English media states that the former Juventus manager is determined to get the 19-year-old’s signature who has a release clause of £25 million (which is $31million).
The Spanish international has represented his country at all levels, but he is yet to make his debut for the senior national side. He has made 24 league appearances for his La Liga club this current campaign
It was added that Conte wants Jorge to be a long term option at the club. Since the young teenager can not bench the likes of Luiz, Cahill, and Azpilicueta at the back line in Conte’s team, it is very likely he will be loaned out as even Zouma that is quite good and experienced, mainly sits on the bench.
Also, the former Italy head coach is said to be looking to sign a midfielder and a superb center forward as he intend having a classic team to play in the Champions League next season.
