According to new reports, premier league champions Chelsea have accepted the fact that they’ve lost out on signing Virgil Van Dijk to premier league rivals Liverpool.

Right now, it is understood that they will be making a renewed attempt to sign Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus this summer.

The London Evening Standard insists Chelsea Italian coach Antonio Conte will make another attempt to sign the 30-year-old to fill the void to be opened by John Terry.

It was added that Conte also tried convincing Bonucci to make the move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but the Italy international decide staying with the old ladies.

Chelsea have reportedly made Van Dijk their top transfer target this summer, but the Netherlands international is said to have preferred a move to Anfield as he desire playing under German boss Jurgen Klopp.

Leonardo Bonucci was part of the Juventus side that missed out winning the Champions League to Real Madrid last Saturday at Cardiff. It is understood that Chelsea were interested in signing him in a £48 Million deal last year.

However, Bonucci said in an interview some weeks back that he would only leave his Serie A side only if the management decided to sell him. However, we expect Antonio Conte to persuade the Italian defender into moving to west London this year.
