Emerging reports claim that English Premier League side Manchester United have opened talks with Napoli midfielder Allan which is already at an advanced stage ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks.
Allan has been impressive for his Italian Serie A side and is obviously one of the best in the midfield position in the league which makes him attracted to a number of clubs especially in the English League.
North London side Arsenal was also linked with the Brazilian international but they seem to have lost out with their long-term rivals United leading in the race with talks already started.
The Gunners will only have the opportunity to have Allan if the negotiations between the Red Devils and his representatives failed to make way.
The 27-year-old, who has got big experience having played in a number of clubs has indicated interest in a switch to the English league in order to have a new challenge.
Allan is therefore contracted to Napoli until 2023 with a release clause of £40 million but it is still unclear if he will accept to move to the Old Trafford knowing the fate and performance so far in the season.
With the current performance of Manchester United, winning a title as well as qualifying for the Champions League will be difficult.
