Real Madrid star player James Rodriguez has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent times and has emerged as a target for top clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.
However, Bayern Munich have now won the race for the Columbia International.
The Bundesliga giants have confirmed the signing of the player from Real Madrid on a two-year loan but also have the option to buy the exciting star permanently.
Last season, Rodriquez started only 18 games in all competitions and was often ignored by French boss Zinedine Zidane during the club’s major games towards the end of the campaign – including the Champions League semi-final against Atletico and the final against Juve.
He now has the opportunity to reunite with his former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti at Germany and is expected to add a flavour to his squad.
Premier league champions Chelsea are still searching for a big name striker after their Italian manager Antonio Conte asked Spanish forward Diego Costa to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The West London club have been heavily linked with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku and he is expected to replace Costa ahead of a busy campaign next season. However, Jose Mourinho’s Man United hijacked the deal and snatch the player from Chelsea’s grip.
Chelsea will now hope Torino can agree to allow Belotti move to Stamford Bridge, or pay the hefty fee demanded by the Champions League winners for Alvaro Morata.
