EPL giants Manchester United have been interested in signing Atletico Madrid player Antoine Griezmann for a long while now and latest reports are very positive.
The latest update provided by Independent indicates that United are increasingly confident that they will finally sign the French international next summer. He has a release clause of €100 million (£87M) in his contract.
Last season, he was in world class form as he scored 32 goals and provided 7 assists in 54 games for the Madrid club. And this season also in 25 fixtures, he already has 12 goals to his name and provided 6 assists too.
The France international is a world class player who can play anywhere in the attacking third and will definitely amplify the quality of Man United’s attack.
The Independent claimed further that the principles of any prospective deal have already been verbally agreed which also includes weekly wage and prospective shirt number.
Earlier this month too, The Sun claimed that United have offered Griezmann a deal that will make him earn £220,000-a-week- which is the exact salary that Paul Pogba earns. Perhaps the Old Trafford club have agreed the mentioned salary with the 25-year-old star.
On the jersey number, Griezmann wears the No.7 shirt for Atletico Madrid and for his country France. Depay wears the No.7 for United but the player is unwanted at the club and linked with a move to Lyon. So we can expect Antoine to wear the 7 number once he joins Man United.
