Geoffrey Kondogbia

It’s the transfer session and many transfer news are flying all over. The latest now is that EPL duo of Chelsea and Liverpool are planning to sign Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.  France Football said that the two English clubs have made timid enquiries over the availability of the midfielder.

In October last year, his agent Jonathan Maarek reportedly confirmed there will be several clubs interested in his services if he decides to leave the Milan club.

Maarek insisted that Kondogbia is a top level player who has a lot of quality and is very young too. “He has a lot of clubs interested in him…. he is not lacking interested clubs” Jonathan told Tuttomercatoweb.

Kondogbia moved to Sevilla in 2012 and his spell  attracted interest from top clubs. After spending in Spain, he joined AS Monaco, scoring in Monaco’s 3-1 win over Arsenal in the Champions League that eliminated Arsene men out of the competition in 2015-16 season.

This season so far, the France international has started in 10 league matches for Inter Milan. The 23-year old has been used as a start-stop gap in the midfield. Unfortunately, the midfielder failed to cement a place under Frank de Boer before he was replaced by Stefano Pioli in November.

And even now that Pioli is boss,  Kondogbia is not still a regular inclusion in the starting lineup- though he made two starts in the last two matches. This has reportedly alerted both Liverpool and Chelsea who have been chasing him.

However, it was gathered that Kondogbia is neither of the club’s priority targets and both clubs could even wait until the end of the January transfer window before making an approach for him.

Nevertheless, it is advisable that Kondogbia should focus on improving his form because changing clubs on a regular basis will not be a good option for him.
