Following various rumours linking resurgent Victor Moses to La Liga giants Barcelona, the Blues are set to offer the star a lucrative deal that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge.
According to report from Sky Sport, Chelsea are making plans to offer the former Wigan man a new contract and will hold talk with the player in the new year.
The Nigerian international has been on scintillating form for the Blues in recent weeks. He scored the winning goal in the London derby between his team and Tottenham Hotspurs over the weekend.
Although the star signed a new contract worth £45,000 a week last year, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is however willing to increase his weekly wages, in order to fend off interest from Barcelona.
Speaking after the Blues’ victory over Tottenham on Saturday, Chelsea boss Conte praised the Nigerian along with Pedro for their impressive performances.
“Pedro is playing good football, is enjoying this type of football and is showing his quality. I’m really happy for him and also for Moses, a player that during pre-season maybe you wouldn’t think you would see in the starting XI.” Said Conte.
Moses moved to Chelsea in 2012 from Premiership side Wigan Athletics. His spell at Chelsea was however shortened when the club decided to loan him out to Liverpool a season after signing him. Moses also spent his last two seasons away at Stoke City and West Ham United on loan.
