3 things Chelsea must ‘correct now’ to become a major contender

Chelsea 100 per cent came to an end yesterday when they faced West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

It was not as if the Blues lost but playing a goalless game has made them dropped some points which have moved them to the third spot on the EPL table.

Moreover, Coach Unai Emery Arsenal squad are already closing in on them having won their past four matches.

Although West Ham played a totally defensive game against Chelsea the Blues had a number of attempts that could have led to a goal.

The game against West Ham also showed some weakness in the Sarri led Chelsea squad which must be corrected very fast if they want to be a major contender this season.

The weakness include,

1. The new role giving to N’golo Kante needs to be withdrawn.

Truly, the new role giving to Kante is exciting but we believe Matteo Kovacic will do a better job if allowed to take up the role.

Kante should return to the midfield and play alongside Jorginho and also cover for Alonso on the left.

2. Chelsea squad lacked the right moral to play against West Ham.

Sarri shouldn’t have started the Blues senior players in a game against PAOK in the Europa league as it was not worth it.

Mixing some younger stars in the game will have been better.

3. Chelsea needs a dependable striker.

At the moment we can say that Chelsea have no striker as the duo of Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are nothing to write home about.

It’s about time ‘this England International’ gets game time at Stamford Bridge
