West Ham United are reportedly interested in a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero this summer.

According to the specific report from the London Evening Standard, the Hammers are in need of a new backup goalkeeper and the aging Willy Caballero fits the bill.

Argentine international Caballero joined Chelsea from Premier League champions Manchester City and he has played second fiddle since he became a Blue.

The Hammers want to make him their second choice goalkeeper behind first choice Lukasz Fabianski.

Polish international shot stopper Fabianski has been in sensational form for the Hammers since his transfer from Swansea City last summer.

West Ham United were said to have paid around £7m to sign Fabianski from already relegated Swansea City.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper made the most saves amongst the Premier League goalkeepers at the end of the league season in the top flight of English football.

Willy Caballero has few months left on his Chelsea and he’s likely to leave this summer for West Ham United probably though a deal is still far from happening.

He was the understudy to Thibaut Courtois before the Belgian shot stopper left for Real Madrid last summer.

Courtois was replaced by Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a world-record deal for a shot stopper.
