Chelsea star forward Michy Batshuayi scored a valuable goal for his side against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, and his manager Antonio Conte, currently speaking about him, has explained why he values the Belgian striker so highly as a member of his squad.
Michy has not always been a regular for Chelsea and he saw limited playing time last term when Diego Costa was a regular at Stamford Bridge. And despite being second fiddle to Costa during Chelsea’s preseason games this summer, he has once again found himself as the backup striker to summer signing Alvaro Morata.
However, the talented player has a penchant for utilising the little chances he was given, and he still managed to excel whenever he was called upon. And recently, he scored the important goal that gave Chelsea their win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in Spain.
And Conte says Michy is a big valued member of his squad, explaining that he didn’t use the striker much often last season because he took him time to fully adjust to life in the premier league.
‘I want the type of player [like Batshauyi] with a great ability to try to make a change game by game.’ Conte hailed.
Despite starting just three games, the 23-year-old has been able to score five goals in all coming for the premier league champions.
