Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has told Real Madrid that he wants to join Manchester United this summer.

The 25-year-old has been tipped to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer after years of being linked with several clubs across Europe. Recently, Manchester United and Real Madrid have been linked with a move for forward with suggestions that the Red Devils have an upper hand in the deal due to the closeness of Paul Pogba and Griezmann.

Reports in Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim that the French forward has told Real Madrid he wants to move to the Old Trafford this summer, ruling out a move across the Spanish capital.

This comes following reports that Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Greizmann and another striker to his current squad following his long-term injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic who faces nine months out of action coupled with Wayne Rooney’s expected exit from the Old Trafford at the end of this season.

Real Madrid are understood to be eyeing a number of forwards in the transfer window as replacement for Karim Benzema who has struggled to impress this season, while Alvaro Morata has been tipped to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer in search of better first team opportunities.
