Manchester United Superstar Opens Up About His Future At The Club
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained coy when asked about his future at the Old Trafford club beyond the summer.
The Swede legend has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players since arriving Manchester United from PSG on a free transfer last year’s summer.
The 35-year-old has successfully silenced any doubters about his ability by scoring more than 25 goals in just his first few months at England.
The huge forward fired Mourinho’s side to EFL Cup victory on Sunday when he scored twice in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Southampton at Wembley.
The Swedish striker initially signed a one-year contract with Manchester United last summer, but United have the option to extend his deal for a further season.
However, Ibrahimovic was giving nothing away yet about his future plans when asked about his situation after Sunday’s cup final win.
The veteran forward is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “Let’s see what happens. I mean the moment, how I feel, the situation, we have another two months of the season to go, because according to many I could not do what I’ve been doing.
“I am enjoying it but I will stop on top. I will not play one game by being simply ‘Ibrahimovic’ and for what I have done before in the game. If I don’t perform, if I do not bring results, I will not play.
“I will not be like other players, playing on because they have made a great career and name and they are still playing because they are who they are. I will play as long as I can bring results.”
Up next, United take on Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. .
