According to reports, Zinedine Zidane has made a ‘personal request’ to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to beat Manchester United to the transfer of Atletico forward Antoine Griezmann.

Antoine Griezmann has established himself as one of the best-attacking players in Europe down the years and is confident to spark another transfer saga at the end of this League season.

As per ESPN Manchester United were prepared to try again for the forward next summer as they sense the La Liga club could now be more open to cashing in on their star striker due to the signing of Spaniard Diego Costa from Chelsea.

However, the clever Real Madrid boss is clearly keen for Real Madrid to hijack any move, with Don Balon reporting they are tempted to meet the players £90million buyout clause when it comes into effect next summer.

It might be a controversial transfer for Real Madrid to raid their city rivals Atletico Madrid, but the France international forward would certainly fit in well at the Bernabeu.

The 26-year-old United target has an impressive goals record of 86 in 168 matches for Diego Simeone’s team, and his ability to score from a number of attacking positions could make him just the right player to eventually replace Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Frenchman could also replace United bound Gareth Bale at Real Madrid, with the Sun recently claiming the Welshman was another target for Jose Mourinho in attack next summer.
