What’s next for Sarri after losing out on star player’s signature

Maurizio Sarri couldn’t beat Paris St-German boss Thomas Tuchel to St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes as it was confirmed that the Argentine player signed with the Ligue 1 champions.

The Zenit St Petersburg’s player has been a longtime target for the Italian manager but he was unfortunate to lose him to Tuchel’s side.

What’s next for Sarri?

If you ask me, Sarri has just two options to choose from before the end of the month.

1. END ALL INTEREST TO SIGN MIDFIELDER

The Blues are well equipped at the middle of the park, hence, the former Italian manager could decide to end his desire to add one player to his midfield setup before the end of the season.

Instead of getting a midfielder to serve as Cesc Fabregas replacement, Sarri should learn to trust Ross Barkley and give him the nod to play an advanced role at the middle of the pitch.

Should Barkley move to the advanced role, N’Golo Kante — who has been playing as a playmaker — will move back to his normal defensive midfield position where he will partner Jorginho.

2. INTENSIFY MOVE FOR BELGIAN STAR YANNICK CARRASCO

Sarri was linked with a move for Dalian Yifang’s midfielder Yannick Carrasco some weeks back but we haven’t heard any rumours recently concerning the Belgian star.

The former Napoli manager must pressure his employers so as to get the lively, versatile and impressive player ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.

He shouldn’t miss out on Carrasco just as he did with Paredes, else, he might pay for it by the end of the season.
