Maurizio Sarri couldn’t beat Paris St-German boss Thomas Tuchel to St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes as it was confirmed that the Argentine player signed with the Ligue 1 champions.
The Zenit St Petersburg’s player has been a longtime target for the Italian manager but he was unfortunate to lose him to Tuchel’s side.
What’s next for Sarri?
If you ask me, Sarri has just two options to choose from before the end of the month.
1. END ALL INTEREST TO SIGN MIDFIELDER
The Blues are well equipped at the middle of the park, hence, the former Italian manager could decide to end his desire to add one player to his midfield setup before the end of the season.
Instead of getting a midfielder to serve as Cesc Fabregas replacement, Sarri should learn to trust Ross Barkley and give him the nod to play an advanced role at the middle of the pitch.
Should Barkley move to the advanced role, N’Golo Kante — who has been playing as a playmaker — will move back to his normal defensive midfield position where he will partner Jorginho.
2. INTENSIFY MOVE FOR BELGIAN STAR YANNICK CARRASCO
Sarri was linked with a move for Dalian Yifang’s midfielder Yannick Carrasco some weeks back but we haven’t heard any rumours recently concerning the Belgian star.
The former Napoli manager must pressure his employers so as to get the lively, versatile and impressive player ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
He shouldn’t miss out on Carrasco just as he did with Paredes, else, he might pay for it by the end of the season.
Man United offered big deal to sign Gareth Bale
English Premier League outfit Man United have been offered the opportunity to secure the signature of their long-term target and Wales international Gareth Bale.
The Red Devils had insisted on having the Star Player before he left North London outfit Tottenham to Real Madrid some years ago.
However the Wales international is now being linked with suggestions that he seeks to leave Bernabeu, knowing that working with manager Zinedine Zidane will be a difficult task.

Gareth Bale is known not to have a good relationship with the Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and would rather seek out of the club for a new challenge elsewhere.
The Spanish Giants are therefore, seeking to land the signature of Man United midfielder, Paul Pogba and they are making efforts to make use of the Wales international as bait to snap up the services of the World Cup winner.
It is reported that, manager Zinedine Zidane has told the management to make the signature of the former Juventus player a top priority in the summer transfer window.
It is now left for the Red Devils to decide on the choice of Gareth Bale for Paul Pogba or sit on the negotiating table to discuss financial terms for a deal to run through before the close of the summer window.
Champions League Final: Salah Equals African Record
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made a telling contribution to lead the Reds to victory in their Champions League final clash with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Salah was on target as Liverpool defeated Spurs 2-0 at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano to emerge as the new European champions.
Liverpool replaced Spanish giants Real Madrid who had won the last three editions before the Reds’ title triumph.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool inside two minutes for his 27th goal for his team in all competitions.

The Egyptian international star scored the first goal of the match from the penalty spot after Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko was penalised for handball after few seconds into the game.
Salah equalled the record of four other Africans by finding the back of the net in a Champions Cup/Champions League.
He’s the fifth African to score in the final after Rabah Madjer (Algeria), Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast) and Sadio Mane (Senegal).
Tottenham Hotspur were the better side after the goal from Salah but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker stood between them and an equaliser especially in the second half before Divock Origi sealed the Liverpool win in added time having come on as a second half substitute for Roberto Firmino.
Deal On!! Arsenal set to miss out on star midfielder, Tottenham winning the race
The North London outfit Tottenham are reportedly willing to snap up the signature of their London rivals target Dani Ceballos from the Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid in the coming summer transfer window.
The report claims that in a bid to defeat Arsenal in the race for the star midfielder.
Tottenham is willing to spend between €40 million (£35.25m) and €50m (£44.96m) to land the 22-year-old.
Dani Ceballos has been on the radar of The Gunners team for a number of months but they could be set to miss out on his signature with Tottenham keen to land him as well in the summer transfer window.
Manager Unai Emery had expected Dani Ceballos to join the Emirates Stadium as a replacement for Wales international Aaron Ramsey.
The former Cardiff City midfielder turned down the Arsenal team for the Italian Serie A outfit Juventus by agreeing on a four-year deal with the club.
However, Arsenal may be forced to look out for other options knowing that they will not be able to compete with Tottenham for the Star midfielder as a result of the price tag on him.
Meanwhile, the Spanish manager is keen to add more strength to his squad so that he can be able to compete for titles in the coming season.
Mourinho tells United why they should move in for Lille star
Former Man United manager Jose Mourinho has advised his former team to move in for the French Ligue 1outfit Lille star forward Nicolas Pepe ahead of the coming summer transfer window.
Nicolas Pepe has impressed so far this season which is the reason why a number of teams have come knocking for his signature. This gives a clear indication that Lille will not be able to keep him at the club in the coming season.
North London outfit Arsenal were reported to be leading in the race but the Red Devils are now looking keen to land the star player who is also on the radar of the Spanish La Liga side Barcelona.
However, former Man United manager Jose Mourinho has told the Red Devils to move in for Nicolas Pepe as he argues that he is a player of big quality and has shown that he can do more.
Jose Mourinho stated that the quality already seen in Nicolas Pepe is what makes clubs lined up for his signature.
Meanwhile, it is yet to be seen if manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be willing to go all out to compete for the signature of the star player in the summer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now knows honeymoon is over
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been the focus at Man United after they had a very bad end of the season as they were defeated by a relegating side Cardiff City on the last match day of the season.
When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as United boss, he had a very fast start as he won virtually most of the games but the situation changed as soon as he was handed the job on a permanent basis.
The poor results became uncontrollable as the Red Devils were able to win just 2 of their last 12 games across all competitions and conceded a number of across as well.
However, no pressure was mounted on the former Red Devils due to his history with the club and the understanding that he needs to settle well with the team but there are suggestions that the honeymoon is now over and he will have to deliver better results in the coming season.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that the Red Devils will not mind to have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked if he fails to deliver good results in the coming season and that will include returning the club back to a Champions League football with a top-four finish.

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes found the back of the net for a 2-2 scoreline after just 24 minutes.
Both sides settled for a 2-2 draw at the end of the final whistle.
Chelsea Duo Suffer Respective Injuries In Burnley Draw
Chelsea fans were left in a state of disappointment after the Blues played out a 2-2 draw at home to Burnley in the Premier League.
They also had to deal with two major injury setbacks from the same game.
Key players like N’Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi were forced off with different injuries against Burnley.
French World Cup winner Kante suffered a rib injury and he was replaced by Croatian international Mateo Kovacic at the halftime interval.
He had already scored for Chelsea in the opening 15 minutes of the game.
Kante levelled proceedings for Chelsea in the 12th minute after Burnley has shot into an eighth minute lead through Jeff Hendrick.
Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain then ended a six-game scoreless run to give the Blues the lead in the game for the first time off an assist from Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Chelsea lead lasted for just ten minutes after Ashley Barnes scored the equaliser for the visitors as both sides settled for a 2-2 draw at the halftime interval.
Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered an Achilles problem and was swiftly replaced by Spanish international Pedro Rodriguez with four first half minutes left on the clock.
Kante was subbed off as a result of the injury at halftime.
Chelsea felt the impact of the two injured players as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw at full-time after struggling to break down a resolute Burnley side.
Liverpool Favourites To Sign Young Chelsea Winger – Report
Premier League leaders have emerged as the surprise favourites to sign young Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi according to the publication from the TalkSport.
The player’s future at Chelsea is in doubt with just over a year left on his contract at the club and several European clubs are interested in him.
Major European sides like Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest in the young England international.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has seen his status soar in recent weeks after he made his debut for the Three Lions of England.
The 18-year-old impressed a great deal for his country in the opening Euro 2020 qualifying games against Czech Republic and Montenegro.
He was called up to the England team from the u21 squad after several players withdrew from the team as a result of an injury.
Hudson-Odoi made his first Premier League start against Brighton and Hove Albion last week Wednesday and impressed as he provided an assist for one of the goals for Chelsea who won the game 3-0.
He could have left Chelsea during the winter transfer window amidst strong transfer interest from German champions Bayern Munich but the Blues rejected several bids from the Bavarian giants and also turned down the transfer request from him.
Sarri Wants Chelsea Form To Continue After West London Derby Win
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has called for the continuation of the Blues’ good form following their latest win in the Premier League.
Sarri and his players made it two successive league victories after beating hosts Fulham 2-1 at the Craven Cottage in their West London Derby clash.
Chelsea have achieved a remarkable turnaround in the wake of the 6-0 thrashing they received at the hands of Premier League champions Manchester City in February.
They have now scored four goals and conceded just once in the two league games played after the heavy loss to Manchester City.
In his post-match press conference after the Fulham game, Maurizio Sarri pointed out that Chelsea have been consistent since the Manchester City thrashing and the Carabao Cup fiasco involving goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The former Napoli manager also revealed that a win over Fulham was non-negotiable after they fell five points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United before the West London Derby clash.
The latest league win over Fulham ensured that Chelsea are just two points off the top four places with a game in hand.
Chelsea will definitely seal a place in the Premier League top four if they can beat relegation-threatened Brighton in their outstanding game.
Arsenal legend! Kepa Was Disrespectful To Both Sarri & Caballero
Arsenal legend David Seaman has waded into the situation surrounding goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
The footballing world was thrown into a state of disbelief after Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refused to be substituted during the Blues’ Carabao Cup final clash with Premier League champions Manchester City.
The incident took place towards the end of extra time while substitute goalkeeper Willy Caballero was on the touchline.
Reacting to the incident via his recent interview monitored by Goal, former Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman said that Kepa was disrespectful to both Sarri and Caballero.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri made the decision to drop Kepa from the Blues starting XI for the Tottenham Hotspur game in the Premier League on Wednesday night and that has been roundly applauded by fans and pundits alike.
Kepa had earlier been fined a week’s salary for his conduct during the Carabao Cup clash which Chelsea lost 4-3 on penalties after a goalless affair at the end of both regulation and extra time.
In his place, Willy Caballero was given the starting shirt for the Spurs game and he kept a clean sheet as Chelsea boosted their top four hopes with a 2-0 home win over their London rivals.
