Arsenal were again defeated in their Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday by 3-1, a development that dropped them to the sixth position in the table.
The defeat further narrows the chance of the North London outfit to secure qualification to the Champions League next season which means they will be missing out of the tournament for the third consecutive season.
The Mirror writer David McDonnell says the major problem with the Arsenal team is the defense as they were unable to meet up with the challenge.
According to the journalist, it was easy for the City attack to penetrate the defense as well as expose the lapses.
He, therefore, called for a complete overhaul of the Gunners defense if they must stand to benefit anything this season.
However, it is not news that the Gunners are known t be lacking in strength at the back and they have failed to secure an addition in the January transfer window that ended last week.
Suggestions are that the Gunners boss would be handed some funds in the coming summer transfer window to add more strength to the team but that could be too late as they might wait for another year again before standing the chance of a Champions League football.
