Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has reiterated his desire to win trophies with his club and country after recent near misses.

In a chat with the Telegraph, Jordan Henderson revealed that he’s motivated to win trophies for both Liverpool and the England national team.

The 28-year-old was part of the Liverpool team that reached the 2016 Europa League final before they were beaten 3-1 by Spanish La Liga club Sevilla.

Sevilla sealed a third successive Europa League title under the guidance of current Arsenal manager Unai Emery via a 3-1 win.

Henderson was also part of the Liverpool team that reached the 2018 Champions League final before the 3-1 defeat at the hands of outgoing European champions Real Madrid.

Spanish giants Real Madrid sealed a third successive Champions League title by beating Liverpool.

Jordan Henderson would be hoping to seal a first title at Liverpool by winning the Premier League title.

Liverpool have a two-point lead over rivals Manchester City in the race for the league title though the Citizens have played a game more.

At country level, Jordan Henderson was a member of the 23-man England squad that finished in fourth place at last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia after a 2-0 loss to Belgium in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
