‘I want this Chelsea star’ – Club boss on the verge to sign Chelsea defender

According to Italian media reports, newly appointed Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking to land defender David Luiz from Chelsea this summer transfer window.

Ancelotti want Chelsea defender

The Brazil international centre-half is in his second spell with Chelsea, having joined in 2016, just 24 months after leaving for French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The defender has reportedly fallen out of favour with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte last term, David Luiz struggled for regular playing time, only playing four matches since the turn of the calendar year.

Luiz, 31, is now thought to be considering his options at the club, with a return to Benfica another likely option.

Chelsea man could improve Italian side

Now according to Italian publication La Repubblica, as quoted by talkSPORT, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss wants to bring Luiz to the Italian side as he looks to challenge Champions Juventus for the 2018/19 top prize.

Despite the New Napoli boss having managed the Blues and Paris Saint Germain, the Italian and the Brazilian haven’t worked together that much. Carlo Ancelotti did however brought him to Chelsea in the winter of 2011, some months before Ancelotti was sacked by Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

The Blues are also thought to be keen on Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly, so any transfer for David Luiz could help Chelsea in their pursuit of the African.
