Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has a stronger squad to select from now than he had at his disposal after the last FIFA international break.
The Italian tactician had lost French tactician N’Golo Kante and Super Eagles star Victor Moses and had England midfielder Danny Drinkwater still nursing his niggling leg problem.
Spain international striker Alvaro Morata had sustained his hamstring problem just a week before that.
Now Antonio Conte has his squad much closer to complete fitness as they head to Azerbaijan to play Qarabag. The Italian tactician has had just one injury decision to make: despite having trained with the rest of the squad yesterday, Nigerian Victor Moses has been left in the City of London.
Chelsea youngster Dujon Sterling has been called up to take his place in the travelling party and might be handed a chance to feature if Chelsea builds up a comfortable lead in the match.
The Chelsea right wing-back is close to making a return, and his recent training with the Chelsea first team is a good and positive sign. It’s no shock to see him left at Stamford Bridge, and perhaps the former Italy head coach is hoping to be able to rely on the World cup bound winger to start against Liverpool this weekend.
