Unstoppable: Klopp Pays Tribute To ‘GOAT’ Messi

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has lauded the quality of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi after his goals gave the Reds a difficult task to overcome ahead of their Champions League semifinal second leg clash next week.

Messi scored a brace to help his Barcelona team to a 3-0 home win over Liverpool in the first leg played at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.

After the game, Klopp lauded Messi who’s seen by many as the Greatest Player of All Time (GOAT).

In his post-match reaction to the defeat, Klopp told reporters that Messi was unstoppable against his team and that the Argentine national team skipper was the difference between the two sides.

The Barcelona vs Liverpool game was the battle of the top two favourites for the Champions League title and it lived up to the billing.

The hosts took a first half lead through Luis Suarez whose first Champions League goal of the season came against his former club and off an assist from the impressive Jordi Alba.

Lionel Messi then sprinkled his star quality over the game with two goals in the last fifteen minutes of the game.

The second goal for Barcelona came after Messi scored from few yards out after Suarez had hit the crossbar before the Blaugrana skipper added a third goal from a well taken 82nd-minute freekick.

Both sides meet again for the second leg on Tuesday with a spot in the 2019 Champions League final up for grabs.
