It has been reported that Manchester United submitted a second offer for Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly and it was immediately rejected.
Efforts by the Red Devils to tempt the Italian Serie A outfit with a whopping £91 million offer failed to yield any result as Napoli are keen to keep Kalidou Koulibaly at the club.
Should the deal be accepted, Kalidou Koulibaly would have become the most expensive defender in the world surpassing Liverpool defender who joined the Anfield from Southampton with a fee of £75 million.
United manager Jose Mourinho is just keen on a solid defender who can help his side survive the heat and intensity in the second half of the season which is why he is desperate to strike a deal as soon as the winter transfer window reopens in coming weeks.
The Portuguese boss is obviously not confident of his defenders and has blamed the department for his woes this season having lost a number of games.
Meanwhile, there are hints that the former Chelsea boss will not be handed funds for the winter window as he can no longer be trusted by the management knowing that he has spent a lot since his joining the club.
