Toby Alderweireld

Manchester United have received a booster ahead of the coming summer transfer window as they are reportedly given the go-ahead to hold talks with Tottenham central defender Toby Alderweireld.

Toby Alderweireld has been on the radar of the Red Devils with former manager Jose Mourinho insisting on his signature in the last summer transfer window but he did not get the backing of the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

It is now reported that the Red Devils will now have the go-ahead to land the 20-year-old Belgian international as he has made up his mind to leave his club by not signing a new contract.

According to reports, Toby Alderweireld would be available to the Red Devils for £26 million but they will face competition from Italian Serie A champions Juventus and Spanish giants Barcelona.

Toby Alderweireld is tipped to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League with Man United hoping to land him to be able to strengthen their team ahead of next season, as they hope to secure qualification to the Champion League.

However, Toby Alderweireld will no doubt jump at a move to the Old Trafford as he hopes to step up to play at a bigger club.
