United encouraged after club agree to lower asking price for star midfielder

Manchester United have been encouraged in their bid for versatile midfielder Sergej Milinkovic Savic after the Italian club SS Lazio are reported to have accepted to lower their asking price for the player.

Manchester United made frantic effort to have the signature of the Serbian star in the last summer but the Italian club refused to let him leave below £100 million which the Red Devils were not willing to pay.

Also, some top European clubs including French Giants Paris Saint Germain and Italian champions Juventus came knocking for the versatile midfielder but they were discouraged by the asking price of £100 million.

However, latest report from Italy claims the club have reconsidered their position and will be ready to allow Sergej Milinkovic Savic leave the club for a lesser fee to be able to cash in on him.

Sports television channel Sky Sports Italia reported that SS Lazio are now willing to take anything less based on negotiation with any suitor that approaches the club for the player.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are keen on signing defenders in the coming transfer window which reopens in coming weeks and might not be interested in having the services of Sergej Milinkovic Savic anymore.
