According to Spanish media reports, Unai Emery wants to add three new players to his Arsenal squad this summer window despite the side’s limited budget.
New Arsenal boss want three new players
Spanish publication Don Balon, as cited by the Daily Express, is claiming that the new tactician is keen on signing at least three fresh players this summer window.
Unai Emery was named Arsenal boss in May after Frenchman Arsene Wenger steped aside following 22 years in charge at the North London club.
As per the same report, Unai Emery wants to bring in Villarreal wide man Samu Castillejo, Real Sociedad’s Asier Illarramendi and Getafe man Djene this summer window as he looks to rebuild his team.
Limited transfer budget could hinder title push
And that’s notwithstanding the fact that the new manager knows that the Gunners budget this summer window is limited.
The former PSG manager has been tasked with steering the Emirate outfit back into the UEFA Champions League places next season after the club ended up in sixth position on the log last season and without a silverware.
The Gunners have not won the English top-flight title since their unbeaten success back in the 2003-04 season.
However, Arsene Wenger did lead them to three Emirates FA Cup titles in the last four seasons of his reign at the Emirates Stadium.
