Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted that there is an emergency situation at the North London side as he is reported to be moving in on Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
With the January transfer window expected to close in coming days, the Gunners boss is reported to be in an emergency bargain to be able to land the England international.
Arsenal are dipped in injury crisis with Sokratis Papa and Laurent Koscielny both picking up injuries in the FA Cup fourth round clash against Manchester United on Friday evening.
This leaves the North London side to having few options in that position, knowing that Rob Holding is already injured as well.
However, the Spanish boss is understood to have approached Gary Cahill who is also seeking to leave the club for failing o secure adequate plating time.
It was learned that Gary Cahill has been told that he can leave the club to any destination of his choice, leaving the Gunners at a good advantage for a deal before the end of the winter window.
However, there could be a hindrance in the terms of the deal as the Gunners are not financially ready to have players join the team on a permanent basis.
