Arsenal legend questions Ozil’s stay

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has questioned why German international Mesut Ozil is still at the Emirate Stadium despite his lack of commitment to the club.

According to the Arsenal legend, the former Real Madrid man has lost his motivation to play football, yet playing to earn what he does not deserve and waiting for retirement.

It is no longer news that the World Cup winner emerged the highest paid player at the North London last year when he extended his contract with the club but he is yet to give his best on the pitch.

Emmanuel Petit is of the opinion that the former Real Madrid cannot be placed under pressure by anyone because he earns good pay and has won so many titles with nothing to fight for again.

However, the Gunners legend is not alone in this thought, knowing that manager Unai Emery has reportedly made such claims which resulted in his fallout with the German international.

There were speculations that the Spanish boss wants Mesut Ozil out of the team so as to make use of his fee to cash in on other players but he has come out to state that he is not leaving the club but will rather stay to fight for a starting shirt.
