Arsenal fans felt cheated when they saw their star player, Alexis Sanchez leave the club last season to Manchester United and were given Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the swap deal.
His worth for the Gunners made convinced United to make Sanchez the club’s highest paid in their history.
Emerging reports reveal that the former Barcelona star earns the sum of £391,000-per-week at Manchester United, making it almost unbearable as a result of his disappointing performance.
Sanchez has scored just three goals since his move to the Old Trafford in January after seeing about 22 games for the club.
However, the Gunners fans have now realized that they were not cheated as with the much-cherished star have failed to shine, instead has become a financial liability to the club.
It is not enough that the Chile international earns £391,000-per-week, he gets more by just making appearances, going by the terms of the contract that was signed.
According to the terms of the contract, he is expected to benefit £75,000 per appearance. With 22 appearances so far, Sanchez has cashed in about £658,000, a major minus to United.
This adds to the annual signing-on fee of £1.1million he will benefit in as many years he will spend in the Old Trafford.
Also, with a £4.83million per goal agreement, he has earned £14.48million alone from the three goals he has scored.
Pundits have described Sanchez’s capture as more of a liability than gain to United as he is yet to prove his worth, hence cannot be afforded by any club based on his huge financial implication.
Once again Chelsea star may be on a temporary move out of Stamford Bridge
