According to new reports, Serie A side Juventus will ask Arsenal to sell them Aaron Ramsey if Miralem Pjanic should move to Arsenal.
Just few hours ago, it was speculated that Arsene Wenger is interested in signing Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Presently, Calciomercatoweb revealed that Juventus will ask for Aaron Ramsey in return should Pjanic make the switch to Arsenal.
Arsenal are reportedly budgeting a £28m offer for Pjanic, as coach Arsene Wenger seeks a long-term replacement for the injury-ridden Santi Cazorla whose feature at the Emirates is not yet sure.
Pjanic is said to be very interested to move to Arsenal and Wenger has already spoken to him.
This season so far, he has appeared 19 times for Juve in both the Serie A and the Champions League, scoring 6 goals and providing 6 assists. He is a brilliant player which should add a lot to Arsenal.
It was said further that Arsenal’s officials have put a call across to the Juventus hierarchy to ask about the availability of Pjanic, and that Giuseppe Marotta used the medium to ask Arsenal about the availability of Aaron Ramsey in return – with a view to signing him come summer.
So far this season, Ramsey hasn’t been much impressive as injuries keeps making him being sidelined occasionally. The 26-year old has also struggled to break into the team ahead of players like Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny, and Granit Xhaka. And with Mesut Ozil being the major at the No. 10 position, he isn’t having the opportunity to play from his favorite position occasionally.
After this season, Ramsey will have just one year left on his contract and no talk of a contract extension is known yet. This season so far at Arsenal, he has been featured 13 times -6 of which have come as a substitute. He is yet to score a goal this season for his club, though he already has two assists to his name.
