It is no longer news that Monaco star player Tiemoue Bakayoko has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and he is currently in London to complete his switch to the English top flight.
According to new reports, the defensive midfielder has passed a medical in London ahead of his transfer to Stamford Bridge and is now on the verge of completing a move to Chelsea after the Premier League champions agreed to a £35million fee with Monaco.
The 22-year-old is to partner his countryman N’Golo Kante as Chelsea coach Antonio Conte identified him as the missing piece in his midfield.
Bakayoko flew into London this week, and the Sun reported that the Frenchman has undergone his medical without any issues.
It was added that the west London club are confident they will iron out the final details of the deal in the coming days and are looking towards making an official announcement before next week
The transfer window will officially open on July 1st and the Blues are hopeful they will announce the France international in line with the opening.
Tiemoue Bakayoko was linked with Manchester United but was keen to work under Antonio at Stamford Bridge rather than Jose Mourinho at Man United.
Tiemoue Bakayoko will be Chelsea’s first signing this summer as they get set for a busy campaign next season.
