Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has sent club tactician Antonio Conte and Blues’ fans a message on Instagram about his condition as new reports claim that Frenchman N’Golo Kante could be sidelined until November with a muscle injury.
He had a scan to ascertain the extent of the injury after being pulled out 34 minutes into France’s 1-0 victory over Bulgaria.
It is likely that the Chelsea will follow up on this examination with tests of their own once the 26-year-old midfielder has returned to their Cobham training ground ahead of the Crystal Palace clash at the weekend.
Tiemoue Bakayoko was signed from French side AS Monaco in the summer to add more depth to Antonio Conte’s midfield options as Serbian Nemanja Matic left for rival Manchester United.
Last campaign, Bakayoko won the French Ligue 1 title and got to the last four of the UEFA Champions League with his former side.
With France international Kante potentially ruled out for one or both of the West London club’s UEFA Champions League group matches against AS Roma, at home and away, the 23-year-old will be required to step up and replace his countryman.
Italian tactician Antonio Conte has previously paired the two players together alongside Spaniard Cesc Fabregas, especially in matches against title rivals and Atletico Madrid.
In a post, Bakayoko uploaded to his recent Instagram Story, the midfielder showed off the results of his efforts in the gym.
