Manchester United manager José Mourinho praised his team — for the first time in a very long time — during his post-match conference after a 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Wednesday.

The Portuguese manager was surprisingly seen praising his players for their fighting spirit against the Gunners who were dominant throughout the encounter.

As much as the Old Trafford outfits deserve to be praised for what was tagged a great result by Mourinho, there must be a total transformation in the team as soon as possible.

Talking of transformation, the whole team need to increase their level of determination and efforts towards seeing the team move out of their current disgraceful form.

What must be done by every aspect of the club

Club’s hierarchy

Though the Glazers have shown so much supports for Mourinho and his players right from the Portuguese first day at Old Trafford, they still need to do more, especially in their present struggling form.

Prior to the start of the season, the Portuguese manager accused his employers of not being supportive enough as they failed to fund his move for quality defenders during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City, who bought some world-class players, are reaping the reward of spending much money during the transfer market as they are yet to taste defeat in the League.

The Glazers must play a crucial role in helping Mourinho’s team out of the position they found themselves. They must be willing to get some quality players, mostly defenders, in the upcoming transfer market.

Mourinho and backroom staffs

As far as United are concerned, Mourinho should shoulder the blame for the team’s uninspiring form.

The Portuguese manager hasn’t helped his players regain the confidence, instead, he makes them uncomfortable and unhappy to play to their maximum strength.

Just as the Portuguese manager, United’s assistant managers have all danced to Mourinho’s tune, hence, making life a bit difficult for the players.

It isn’t just about the players, the coaches must begin to act as motivators to the players.

Mourinho, in particular, must change his attitude toward the players. He needs to start respecting his players so that he will get their 100% concentration and dedication in return.

This season has seen the Portuguese manager criticize his players in public and that has played a huge role in the team’s dwindling form.

He must know that his future at Old Trafford is directly proportional to the happiness and performance of his players, hence, there’s a need for him to value his players.

Players

The players have been very lazy in their approach to all the games played so far this season. They played without conviction and that’s been affecting them in all of the games played.

They must begin to know that it’s very important to win many games, irrespective of the treatment they are getting from Mourinho and his back-room staffs.
