Liverpool could only share points with Southampton after ninety minutes between the duo.
And the Reds German manager Jurgen Klopp was furious with the officiating during the game with the Saints at Anfield.
The Anfield club struggled to create clear cut chances in the game, and the fans were continually angered by the decisions made by the officiating referee Bobby Madley.
Liverpool’s James Milner also missed a penalty in the second half of the game, and Klopp was not happy about the four minutes added time.
The German boss was not impressed, and speaking in his post-match conference, revealed that there are instances where the fourth official sees something, but couldn’t communicate across because the headsets were not working well.
The manager also thinks more time needed to be added, stressing that the fact that West Ham got two yellow cards and with the delay, should have made the referee add more time.
Klopp was however happy with the Anfield pitch conditions and he thinks it played a part in his squad’s passing. He revealed that it was initially dry, and lots of water needs to be added.
As the season approaches it end, Liverpool -with the hope of winning the title already dashed – are still sitting third on the premier league table and are set to play in the Champions League next season.
