Manchester United could lose £70m-rated target – report

La Liga champions Barcelona are keen on splashing some cash this summer to strengthen their midfield department, and they have been linked with various talented midfielders ahead of the 2018/19 season.

After losing Spanish legend Xavi three years ago, the Camp Nou club have just lost another superb midfielder – in the person of Andres Iniesta.

It won’t be too easy to get a perfect replacement for the duo, but the Catalan giants must take some steps, spending huge money in the process.

According to new reports circulating in Spain, Barca are set to complete a deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

The £70M-rated star was very much impressive at Lazio last term and he has all it takes to give Barcelona’s midfield department the necessary needed ingredients.

However, the Serbian international has long been linked with Jose Mourinho’s United, but it appears the premier league side will lose him to the Spanish champions this summer.

Manchester United signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk some weeks back to replace Michael Carrick who retired last season.

However, France international Paul Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and the red devils are on their toes to bring in a second midfielder before the start of the upcoming season.
